Centerville Lady Bulldogs top Hanson Lady Tigers

CENTERVILLE _ Centerville Lady Bulldogs erupted for six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, pulling out a 7-1 District 7-1A victory over the Hanson Memorial Lady Tigers here Thursday at Lady Bulldog Park.
Centerville’s Ashton Landry recorded the win after she tossed seven innings, allowing two hits with six strikeouts, four walks and one run.

Hanson’s Sarah Sonnier took the loss after working 5 2/3 innings, yielding 3 hits, 5 runs, 8 strikeouts and 4 walks. Ashley Meyerholtz pitched and gave up two runs with two walks over one-third of an inning. Baylee Young worked the final 1/3 frame, allowing one hit.

Hanson (15-5, 8-1) will play host to LCA in a double-header on Saturday beginning at 11 a.m.

Lunden Verdin Pillaro slugged a game-winning 2-run homer, sending the Hanson Memorial Lady Tigers to a 7-5 victory over the Vermilion Catholic Lady Eagles in eight innings Monday at the Hanson Memorial Softball Complex.
Sarah Sonnier was the winning pitcher after pitching eight innings, allowing six hits with eight strikeouts and two walks.
