Jules Joseph Daigle Sr.
November 19, 1931-May 5, 2016
Jules Joseph Daigle Sr., a native of 4 Mile Bayou and a longtime resident of Pierre Part, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016, at Morgan City Health Care Center at the age of 84.
Back in Jules’ younger years, he owned a bar in Stephensville called The Ponderosa, there he met many lifetime friends. A dedicated fisherman, Jules adored spending time out on the water of our many bayous and rivers. Jules’ memory will be forever etched into the hearts of those who knew him best.
Those left to cherish Jules’ memory are his wife, Mary “Poochie” Daigle; his six sons, Jules “Jr. Boy” Joseph Daigle Jr. and his wife, Stella, of Houma, Ralph Daigle and his wife, Mona, of Lafayette, David Joseph Daigle of Pierre Part, Albert Joseph Daigle and his wife, Bobbie Jean, of Houma, Joseph “Joe” Daigle and his wife, Jodi, of Bayou Vista and Sidney “P-Nut” Paul Daigle and his wife, Evangeline, of Butte LaRose; one “adopted” daughter, Sandy King of Gonzales; one brother, Stanley Daigle and his wife, Betty, of Belle River; one sister, Shirley Arceneaux and her husband, Kenneth, of Morgan City; 20 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Louisiana Gros Daigle; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
The family requests that visitation be observed Monday, May 9, 2016, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home and again on Tuesday, May 10, 2016, from 9 a.m. until time of services at Hargrave Funeral Home. Jules will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery following services.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Morgan City Health Care Center, Hospice of South Louisiana, and any and all of the family friends who assisted in Jules’ care during his illness.
