CARL CLAXTON RATLIFF
September 4, 1952-May 31, 2016
Carl Claxton Ratliff Jr., 63, a resident of Los Lunas, New Mexico, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016, in his home.
He was born Sept. 4, 1952, in Robstown, Texas, the son of Carl C. Ratliff Sr. and Shirley S. Ratliff.
Carl was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend that will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Carl selflessly served in the Navy as Sea and Air Rescue in the Helicopter Squadron. He was a member of the Single Action Shooters Society where he dressed in period clothing and shot period rifles competitively. Carl enjoyed hunting as well.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Donna Ratliff of Los Lunas, New Mexico; son, William C. Ratliff and wife, Dawn, of Pierre Part; daughter, Michelle Ziskind and husband, Brandon, of Austin, Texas; brother, William Ratliff and wife, Dottie, of Chauvin; and two grandchildren.
Carl was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sheffield and Ouida Swearingen; and parents, Carl Ratliff Sr. and Shirley Ratliff.
Visitation will be held at Twin City Funeral Home on Thursday, June 9, 2016, from 9 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. Carl will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery with military honors given by the East St. Mary Veteran’s Funeral Squad.
