TYRONE KIMLAND ‘GUSH’ JOHNSON

Tyrone Kimland “Gush” Johnson, 58, a resident of Oakland, CA and native of Morgan City, passed away on Wednesday June 8, 2016 at 1 a.m., at the Cancer Care Center in Goodyear, AZ.
Visitation will be observed Saturday, June 18, 2016 at the Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church 113 Federal Avenue Morgan City, from 9 a.m. until funeral services at 1 p.m. Dr. C. F. Smith Sr. will officiate the services. Burial will follow in the Morgan City Cemetery.
Memories of Tyrone or “Gush,” as he was known to many, will forever remain in the hearts of his wife of over 30 years, Edna Mae Marzett Johnson of Oakland, CA; his loving mother, Dorothy Johnson of Morgan City; five sons, Jermond Johnson of Philadelphia, PA, Tranden Hawkins of Parks, LA; Titus Turner of Marksville, and Tyrone Turner of Lafayette; and Torey Wheeler of Buckeye, AZ; three daughters, Tyesia Hawkins of Patterson, Terrica Jacobs-Turner of Lafayette and Adrian Johnson of Dallas, TX; two brothers, Joseph Johnson III and Ronald James Brown, both of Morgan City; one sister, Alisha Castillo (Armando) of La Place, LA; a godmother, Delorais M. Hoskins of Morgan City; 14 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Tyrone was preceded in death by his father, and both his maternal grandparents, and paternal grandparents.
