Teen charged with accessory to Patterson car burglaries

A Patterson teen has been charged with accessory to seven car burglaries in an ongoing investigation, according to Patterson police.
—Joseph R. Owens Jr., 17, of the 100 block of Cremo Lane in Patterson, was arrested at 3 p.m. Tuesday on the charge of seven counts of accessory to car burglary. Owens was released on $10,000 bail.
The charge stems from a report of car burglaries in the Leo Drive area, police said. The investigation into the burglaries is continuing.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 39 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—Curtis Richard, 39, of Glenwood Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 11:51 a.m. Thursday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of driving with a suspended license and unlit license plate. A correctional officer transported Richard from the Assumption Parish jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the warrant. No bail is set.
—Ashley N. Jennies, 29, of Ohio Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 4:48 p.m. Thursday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of theft of goods. A deputy transported Jennies from the Berwick Police Department to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the warrant. Bail is set at $5,000.
—Melissa A. Aucoin, 40, of the 500 block of Joey Street in Patterson, was arrested at 5:15 p.m. Thursday on the charge of possession of marijuana. Narcotics detectives conducting an investigation at a business in Morgan City located marijuana cigarettes and collected evidence that the illegal drugs belonged to Aucoin. Aucoin was released on a summons to appear in court Sept. 15.
—Jason M. Thompson, 52, of the 400 block of Tiffany Street in Patterson, was arrested at 8:24 p.m. Thursday on a warrant charging him with criminal damage to property. Narcotics detectives located Thompson at his home on the warrant. The warrant was the result of an investigation into property damage. The detective collected evidence that Thompson removed no trespassing signs from private property. Thompson was transported to the parish jail for booking. He was released on a summons to appear in court Sept. 15.
Morgan City Police Chief James Blair reported the following arrests:
—Bridget A. Pojar, 37, of Egle Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 10 a.m. Thursday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of disturbing the peace intoxicated.
Officers located Pojar in the area of Second and Egle streets where Pojar was arrested on an active warrant. Pojar was jailed.
—Patrick L. Augman, 42, of Edenborn Avenue in Metairie, was arrested at 2:25 p.m. Thursday on the charges of resisting an officer, criminal trespassing and on a warrant charging him with theft of goods.
A patrolling officer observed Augman, who was known by the officer to have an active warrant through the Morgan City Police Department, in the area of Federal Avenue near Leona Street.
The warrant was obtained from an investigation conducted by Morgan City Police of an alleged theft from a local drug store on Brashear Avenue reported May 20. As the officer approached Augman, he fled from the officer, running through several areas including private property, Blair said.
A foot chase ensued, and officers apprehended Augman moments later. Augman was jailed.
—Kedesha N. Scott, 21, of Federal Avenue in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:35 p.m. Thursday on the charge of simple battery.
—Jessica L. Trahan, 30, of La. 182 in Franklin, was arrested at 2:35 p.m. Thursday on the charge of simple battery
While Scott and Trahan were incarcerated in Morgan City jail, an officer observed them involved in a fist fight inside a cell. Scott and Trahan were separated and remain in jail.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
