Police: Teens booked for Berwick vehicle burglaries
Two teens have been charged in connection with a string of burglaries in Berwick earlier this month, Police Chief James Richard said.
—Christopher Percle, 17, of Clements Lane in Morgan City, was arrested at 8:19 p.m. Tuesday on warrants charging him with three counts of simple burglary and one count of attempted simple burglary.
—A male juvenile, 15, was arrested at 7 p.m. Tuesday on warrants charging him with three counts of simple burglary and one count of attempted burglary.
The charges stem from vehicle burglaries in the Country Club Estates area. All vehicles burglarized were left unlocked, Richard said. The teens were also caught on video attempting to open the door of a locked car, Richard said.
Percle was previously arrested June 16 in connection with other vehicle burglaries in Berwick on six counts of simple burglary and two counts of attempted simple burglary.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 45 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—Zadre Johnson, 23, of Martin Luther King Avenue in Patterson, was arrested at 6:37 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant charging him with two counts of second degree battery, simple battery and disturbing the peace fighting.
A deputy investigating a complaint at a home in Patterson made contact with Johnson and located the active warrant for his arrest. The warrant stems from an investigation into a fight that occurred Oct. 7, 2014, in the Bayou Vista area.
The deputy found evidence that Johnson struck a male victim, causing injuries to the victim’s face that required medical treatment, Hebert said. Johnson was booked into parish jail with bail set at $3,000.
—Shundren Johnson, 20, of Tiffany Street in Patterson, was arrested at 5:47 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of theft of goods. A deputy investigating a complaint at a residence in Patterson made contact with Johnson and located the active warrant for his arrest. Johnson was booked into parish jail and released on $750 bail.
—Trent Duhon, 21, of Clarke Road in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 10:51 p.m. Tuesday on two Morgan City Police Department warrants charging him with unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling, simple battery, criminal damage to property, and telephone harassment.
Morgan City Police Chief James Blair reported no arrests.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported no arrests.
