Police Reports 8-8-16

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:
Bricelon Martin, 20, of 1192 Chitimacha Trail, Charenton, was arrested Friday at 3:04 p.m. and charged on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of child desertion, flight from an officer, criminal trespassing and remaining where forbidden. No bail was set.
Schronte Hopes, 18, of Jeanerette, was arrested Friday at 11:12 p.m. and charged for speeding, no driver’s license and no insurance. Hopes was released on a summons to appear in court.
Dimon Batiste, 21, of 1513 Gum St., Franklin, was arrested Monday at 3:31 a.m. and charged with the following offenses: possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, transactions involving drug proceeds, violation of a uniform controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone), no driver’s license and headlamps required. No bail was set.
Demondre Watson, 20, of 1513 Gum St., Franklin, was arrested Monday at 3:31 a.m. and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, transactions involving drug proceeds, violation of a uniform controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone) and possession of (open) alcoholic beverages in motor vehicles. Watson was released on a $12,000 bond.
Eugene J. Lacoste, 50, of 102 Edwin Ln., Amelia, was arrested Saturday at 7 a.m. and charged on a warrant for simple battery. Lacoste was released on a $500 bond.
Lakeisha Tatum, 33, of 413 Seventh St., Franklin, was arrested Saturday at 3:57 p.m. and charged with no driver’s license, no insurance expired motor vehicle inspection and expired license plate. Tatum was released on a summons to appear in court.
Willie Vallet Jr., 49, of 170 Verdun Lane, Verdunville, was arrested Sunday at 12:20 a.m. and charged no driver’s license on person, expired driver’s license, expired motor vehicle inspection, proper equipment required, possession of drug paraphernalia and a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family. Bail was set at $7,546.
Abraham Gilbert Jr., 38, of 721 Wattigny St., Jeanerette, was arrested Sunday at 3:47 a.m. and charged with speeding, flight from an officer, possession of (open) alcoholic beverages in motor vehicles, driving with a suspended driver’s license and switched license plate. Gilbert was released on a $2,500 bond.
Tony L. Younger Jr., 25, of New Iberia, was arrested Saturday at 9:43 p.m. and charged on an Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. No bail was set.
A juvenile female, age 14, of Lake Charles, and a juvenile female, age 15 of Franklin, were arrested Sunday at 6:45 p.m. and charged with disturbing the peace. Both juveniles were released to their guardians pending juvenile court proceedings.
Karen Hall, 45, of Thibodaux, was arrested Monday at 4:02 a.m. and charged on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license, unlit license plate and no proof of insurance. No bail was set.
Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire reported the following arrests:
Terrance Huckaby, 21, of Franklin, was arrested Friday at 4:05 p.m. for the charge of obscenity and possession of Schedule I narcotics (marijuana)-first offense. Huckaby was booked, processed and held with no bond set.
LaQuandre Freeman, 19, of Sixth Street, Franklin, was arrested Saturday at 11:42 p.m. and charged on a warrant for 16th Judicial District Court for failure to appear on the charge of theft of goods. Freeman was booked, processed and held with no bond set.
Courtenay Joseph, 41, of Theresa Street, Franklin, was arrested Saturday at 1:11 a.m. for the charges of domestic abuse battery by strangulation-first offense, headlights required and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Joseph was booked, processed and held with no bond set.
Markila Ruffin, 21, of Easy Street, Franklin, was arrested Saturday at 3:39 p.m. for the charge of disturbing the peace. Ruffin was booked, processed and released on a $250 bond.
