Washburn makes final out-of-town appearances

On June 25, Louisiana Shrimp and Petroleum Festival Queen Anna Leigh Washburn traveled to New Orleans to meet with Louisiana farmers and participate in the Farm Bureau’s annual convention, top photo. While there she learned about Louisiana agriculture. On July 30, she traveled to Delcambre to congratulate the 66th Delcambre Shrimp Festival Queen, Courtney LeBlanc, left in bottom photo. The Delcambre appearance was Washburn’s last out-of-town festival before naming her successor Aug. 27. Washburn said she was thrilled to have one last opportunity to invite people from other areas to attend the local Labor Day weekend festival.
