VERLIN MARIE RULF LaCOSTE

December 10, 1930 — November 8, 2016
Verlin Marie Rulf LaCoste, 85, a resident of Morgan City, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016, at Teche Regional Medical Center.
Verlin was born Dec. 10, 1930, in Berwick, the daughter of Gustave Rulf and Louise Billiot Rulf.
Verlin was a member of the St. Mary Parish AARP and the American Legion. She loved to travel and go on vacations, and always took her grandchildren with her. She loved to sit outside and watch the birds and enjoy all of God’s creations.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by one daughter-in-law, Julie Bernard LaCoste of Morgan City; five grandchildren, Jared LaCoste and wife Tayler of Gray, Jason LaCoste and wife Jacquie of Bayou Vista, Lauren Billiot and husband Joey of Morgan City, Kristie Lodrigue-Sistrunk of Morgan City, and Kevin Lodrigue of Amelia; 10 grandchildren, Kaiden LaCoste, Landyn LaCoste, Brileigh LaCoste, Stratton LaCoste, Little Joey Billiot, Cass Billiot, Samantha Billiot, Rose Billiot, Cora Reed, and Keegan Lodrigue; and one brother, Leslie Rulf Sr. of Rockport, Texas.
Verlin was preceded in death by her parents, Gustave and Louise Billiot Rulf; husband, Murphy Louis LaCoste Sr.; one daughter, Shelley LaCoste Lodrigue; one son, Murphy Louis “Doodie” LaCoste Jr.; one son-in-law, Robert “Butch” Lodrigue Jr.; and one grandson, Robert Murphy Lodrigue.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 11, 2016, at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Father Noas Kerketta celebrating Mass. A visitation will be held today, Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Twin City Funeral Home with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m. The visitation will resume from 9 a.m. until Mass time on Friday at Holy Cross Church. Following Mass, Verlin will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery Mausoleum with her husband.
