West St. Mary to host the Many High Tigers Friday

No. 17 seeded West St. Mary Wolfpack will host No. 1 Many Tigers Friday in the second round of the State Class 2-A football playoffs at Wolfpack Stadium.
West St. Mary will host the highly-touted Many Tigers Friday after pulling off a 14-13 first-round road win over the Oakdale Warriors last week.
Many, the defending State Class 2-A Champions, enters Friday’s second round contest with a perfect 11-0 record after last week’s 57-6 win over General Trass.
“Last week’s first round win felt good as it allowed our kids to see their potential,” West St. Mary Head Coach Clifton Armelin said. “Defense was the key to the game and our defense played sound football and it going to take the same effort against Many, where they like to load the box and used the athleticism of their athletes to get after you.”
With No. 1 seeded Many coming to town on Friday, Coach Armelin is reminding his team to take every game one at a time.
“The first round is over and we must stay humble but hungry and always remember to take one game at a time,” Armelin said.
Coach Armelin praised his team’s efforts as the Wolfpack has reached the second round of the State football playoffs for the first time in 10 seasons.
“We will treat Friday’s game as we do them all as one game at a time,” Armelin stated. “Our kids are excited about reaching the second round and doing something that hasn’t been done in 10 years,” he stated.
The highly-regarded Many Tigers reminds Armelin of the Patterson Lumberjacks of old with the load-the-box and send good athletes at you style defense and line up and run-it-down- your-throat type offense.
