BARBARA CAVINESS PETERSON

October 10, 1939 - October 5, 2016
Barbara Caviness Peterson, a native and resident of Franklin, passed away at the age of 76 on Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2016, at Post Acute Specialty Hospital in Lafayette.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Chenette Peterson Cahanin and her husband Robert; her son, Gerard “Hook” Peterson; her brother, J.T. Caviness Jr. and his wife Sharon; her sister, Sarah Caviness; four grandchildren, Matt Cahanin, Megan Cahanin, Cody Peterson, and Amy Breaux Mouton; five great grandchildren, Paisley and Ava Cahanin, Emily Breaux, and Carlie and Ezekiel “Zeke” Mouton; and one nephew, Jared and Lisa Caviness and their child Maggie.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Karla Maria Peterson; and by her parents, Joseph T. Caviness and Bertha Lorenzo Caviness.
In keeping with Barbara’s wishes, she will be cremated with a private inurnment being held at a later date.
