BETTY ANN BANKS JACQUET

Betty Ann Banks Jacquet, 81, a native and resident of Morgan City, La., passed away on Thursday Feb. 16, 2017 at 3:37 a.m. at Passages Hospice and The Sanctuary in New Orleans, La.
Visitation will be observed on Tuesday Feb. 21, 2017 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church in Morgan City. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m., followed by the Omega Omega Service of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. Sorority. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. with Father Freddie serving as the Celebrant. Burial will follow mass services in the Morgan City Cemetery.
Mrs. Jaquet was employed as Educator for the St. Mary Parish School Board and later retired as a Title 1 Educational Supervisor. Betty was a charter member of the Confraternity of Our Lady Star of the Sea, a member of the Catholic Daughters for more than 40 years, a member of Come Lord Jesus and a member of the of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
She leaves to cherish his memory her loving and devoted daughter, Daphne Jacquet of Elizabethtown, Kentuchy; her grandson; two sisters, Mrs. Whitney (Marva) Madise of Berwick, La., and Patricia Hawkins of Morgan City, La. and a host nieces, nephews, friends and also the students that she helped to educate in the St. Mary Parish School System.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one brother, and two sisters.
