Brenda Ann Stansbury, 64, a resident of Morgan City, passed away Monday, Feb. 2, 2015, at Chabert Medical Center.
Brenda was born on Aug. 26, 1950, in Morgan City, the daughter of Rollin and Carolyn Boudreaux Anslum.
Brenda loved to be in the outdoors, especially when she was fishing, shrimping or crabbing. She enjoyed dancing as well as listening to music, and she was a big fan of Elvis. She enjoyed shooting pool, and was a past member of the APA Pool League. She enjoyed taking frequent trips to the casino, and loved to cook for her family.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband, Rodney Stansbury, of Morgan City; five children, Wiltz Grow and wife, Terri, of Stephensville, Roger Grow, of Morgan City, Ronnie Grow, of Morgan City, Sonya Grow Chapman, of Grosse Tête, and Kirk Anslum, of Lafayette; two stepchildren, Christy Trahan and husband, Anthony, of Youngsville, and Rodney Stansbury and wife, Rene, of Rayne; 21 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lisa Willis and husband, David, of Covington. Brenda is also survived by four sisters-in-law, Claribel Jones, Debra Romero, Sheila Pauley and husband, Steve, and Peggy Aucoin and husband, Mike; two brothers-in-law, Al Stansbury and wife Cyndi, and Robert Stansbury; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Brian Grow; three brothers, Larry Anslum, Charles Anslum and Rollin Anslum; and one sister, Darlene Bonin.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, at Twin City Funeral Home. A visitation will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, at Twin City Funeral Home with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m. The visitation will resume from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Brenda will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery following the services.
