CHAD JAMES McFARLAIN

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, November 16, 2013, at 11 a.m., at the Church of the Assumption in Franklin for Chad James McFarlain, a native and longtime former resident of Franklin and a resident of Bayou Vista for the past 4½ years, who passed away at the age of 42 on Tuesday, November 12, 2013. He will be laid to rest in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Baldwin. Father Lloyd Benoit will officiate the services.
Serving as pallbearers will be John D. McFarlain Jr., Charles Billodeau, Charles Billodeau Jr., Robert Smith, Scott Dye and Glenn McFarlain. Honorary pallbearers will be Buford McFarlain, Carl Theriot, Bill Moore, Jerome Hebert and Sean Moore.
A gathering of family and friends will be held in Franklin at Ibert’s Mortuary on Friday from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., with the rosary being prayed at 7 p.m. Visiting will continue Saturday at 8 a.m. until time of dismissal at 10:30 a.m.
Survivors include his parents, John D. McFarlain and Rita Billodeau McFarlain; his brother, John D. McFarlain Jr. and his wife Renee’; his companion of 4½  years, Dee Smith; and two nieces, Holly and Heather McFarlain.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Benny and Myrtle Landry Billodeau; and his paternal grandparents, Ervin and Audrey Gatte McFarlain.
