Charles Aucoin, a native of Amelia and a resident of Gibson, passed away Friday, Nov. 21, 2014, at the age of 77.
Charles was a man whose main concern was his family, always ready with a joke and armed with a smile. Charles loved to make you laugh and would find the silver lining in everything. He was a wonderful husband and provider for his family. He was a retired mechanic from Reagan Equipment. Charles enjoyed the outdoors spending time farming, riding his tractor and his golf cart, and camping with his family. He will be missed by all those who loved this great man.
Charles leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 55 years, Linda Williams Aucoin, of Gibson; his children, Thomas Aucoin and wife Susan, of Bayou L’Ourse, Keith Aucoin and wife, Gaynell, of Raceland, and Ruby Fuller and husband, Carroll, of Houma; grandchildren, Chassity LeBoeuf, Catrina Aucoin, Darren Fuller, Krystal Fuller, Kaeleigh Murray, Kaytlyn Aucoin, Trey Aucoin and Taite Aucoin; great-grandchildren, Mason LeBoeuf, Riley Arnaud, Madison LeBoeuf and Aubre Fuller; his brothers, Robert Aucoin, Danny Aucoin, Larry Aucoin and Darrell Aucoin; and his four-legged companion, his cat Meme.
Charles joins in heaven his parents, Eugene Aucoin Sr. and Ruby Morgan Aucoin; sister, Mary Lou Ohmer; brothers, Eugene Aucoin Jr. and Wayne Aucoin; brother-in-law, Huey Ohmer Sr.; and sister-in-law, Helen Landry Aucoin.
Visitation will be today, Monday, Nov. 24, 2014, at Hargrave Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., resuming Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2014, at 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Andrew Catholic Church at 3 p.m. Charles will be laid to rest in the St. Andrew Cemetery.
