EDWARD LEWIS SR.

Edward Lewis Sr., 85, a native and a resident of Jeanerette, died Monday, January 12, 2015 at Maison Teche Nursing Home in Jeanerette.
Edward was a veteran of The United States Army, receiving decorations and citations of Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon and Victory Ribbon.
Visitation will be observed on Saturday, January 17, at the First Jerusalem Baptist Church, 835 Monnot Rd. in Jeanerette, from 8 a.m. until funeral services at 11 a.m. The Rev. Arthur Lee Alexander will officiate the services. Burial will follow in the Heavenly Rest Cemetery of Jeanerette with Military Honors.
Cherished and divine memories of Edward Sr. will forever be remembered by his beloved and loving children including five sons, Edward (Linda) Lewis Jr., Roland Lewis and Michael Lewis, all of Jeanerette, Ronald Lewis (Claudina) of Copperas Cove, TX and Davis Lewis Sr. of Beaumont, TX; three daughters, Irma Sparrow (Donald Ray Sr.) of Jeanerette, Beatrice Thompson of New Orleans and Margaret Senette of Houston, TX; one sister, Clara Lewis of Jeanerette; as well as several grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, one son, one daughter, five brothers and two sisters.
