Elmer “Sarge” Moffett

For that dash represents all the time that he spent alive on earth … and now only those who loved him know what that little line is worth. For it matters not how much he owned, the car, the house, the cash. What matters is how he lived and loved and how he spent his dash.” — The Dash
 
Elmer “Sarge” Moffett, a native of Shreveport and a resident of Morgan City, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, at his residence at the age of 75 after a courageous battle with cancer.
To cherish his memory, Sarge leaves his wife, Judy Thibodeaux Moffett; his children, Lisa Marie, Deborah May, Natalie Coupel, Bobby Lombas, Mack Lombas, Linda LeBlanc, Millet Wilkinson, Julie Landry, Glenn Deville and Troy Deville; a sister, Yvonne Morrow; and 20 grandchildren. 
He joins in heaven his parents, Elmer Weston and Vivian A. Moffett; his stepmother, Nora Moffett; two brothers, Dewie Lavelle and Oliver Leon; and four sisters, Lessie Norine Williams, Ethel E., Eula Azzell Bradley, and Margie E. Duncan. 
The family requests that visitation be observed Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church in Berwick from 9 a.m. until time of services. Services for Sarge will begin Friday at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Berwick with the Rev. Steve Porter officiating. Sarge will be laid to rest in the Berwick Cemetery with military honors being rendered.
