ERROL JAMES ‘ROBY’ ROBICHEAUX

Funeral services for Errol James “Roby” Robicheaux will be held at a 12 p.m. memorial service on Saturday, November 22, 2014, at Ibert’s Mortuary in Franklin. A native of Weeks Island and a lifelong resident of Franklin, Errol passed away Tuesday afternoon at the age of 72, at Lafayette General Medical Center following a brief illness.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Ibert’s, from 10 a.m. until time of service, with the rosary being prayed at 11 a.m. He will be laid to rest in the Franklin Cemetery Garden Mausoleum. Fr. Billy Ruskoski will officiate the services.
Errol loved to walk to Main Street where he enjoyed visiting with friends at Polito’s over coffee and Main Street Café while having a good meal. Errol was also an avid LSU and Saints fan. His friends will miss seeing his quick smile and his lively discussions.
Survivors include his sons, Shawn Robicheaux and his wife, Diana, of Ohio; and Todd Robicheaux of South Carolina; Todd’s daughters and Errol’s granddaughters, Libby Robicheaux Martiny and her husband, James; Kristina Robicheaux and her daughter and Errol’s great granddaughter, Kaydence, all of South Carolina; his siblings, Jewel Dupont and her husband, James, of Conroe, TX; and Lanny Robicheaux and his wife, Cheryl, of Houston, TX; nieces and nephews, Chadd Richard and his wife, Christie; Charisse Prescott and her husband, Keith; Nechelle Polk and her husband, Michael; Brett Robicheaux; and Courtney Robicheaux; numerous great and great great nieces and nephews; and last, but no means least, Sammy, Judy, Kevin and Carolyn Polito, and Betty and Christopher Legnon, all of whom Errol considered family and best friends ever in the truest sense.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur J. Robicheaux and Maude Dugas Robicheaux; and one nephew, Kevin Richard.
