GERTRUDE PARKER

Mrs. Gertrude Parker, 85, a resident and native of Franklin, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2016, at 6:40 p.m., at AMG Specialty Hospital in Lafayette.
Visitations will be observed Saturday, June 4, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Franklin.
Burial rites will be read Saturday, at 12 p.m., at the church, with the Rev. Noah Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Franklin Cemetery.
Survivors include eight sons, Leonard Collins Jr. of Baton Rouge; Arnold Collins of New Orleans; Darrell Collins of Montgomery, AL; Brian Collins of Dallas, TX; Ben Collins of Youngsville; Hernandez Parker of Patterson; Lenis Parker of Verdunville and Ronald Gunner of Lafayette; three daughters, Wanda F. Collins Griffin of Franklin, Stephanie Parker of Patterson and Tonya Gunner of Verdunville; 24 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren.
The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.
