Helen Mae Morgan Comeaux, 88, a resident of Morgan City, passed away Monday, Sept. 22, 2014, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Helen was born on April 25, 1926, on Morgan Island, the daughter of Thomas and Carrie Smith Morgan.
Helen was a retired cafeteria worker for the St. Mary Parish School Board.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by three children, Catherine C. Hauser and husband, Richard, Irving T. Comeaux and wife, Janet, and Ronnie J. Comeaux and wife, Nelda, all of Morgan City; nine grandchildren, Debbie Olivier, Jim Comeaux, Kim Cape, Glen Comeaux, Mark Comeaux, Jesse Comeaux, Scott Comeaux, Chrissy Mayon and Holly Badeaux; 20 great-grandchildren, Michael Aucoin, Heather Booty, Stephen Darce, Brandon Darce, David Comeaux, Laura Schmitt, Andrea’ Comeaux, Morgan Comeaux, Kip Comeaux, Shelbie Comeaux, Toby Comeaux, Ali Comeaux, Jesse Comeaux Jr., Coby Comeaux, Scott Comeaux Jr., Alexis Comeaux, Kace Comeaux, Kane Mayon, Addison Mayon and Cindy O’Gara. Helen is also survived by eight great-great-grandchildren, Jayme, Kaylee, Briana, Krista, Adian, Abbie, Madison and Ronnie; one sister-in-law, Evelyn Morgan; her special friend, Joyce Chaisson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ervin “Shorty” Comeaux; infant daughter, Virginia; three sisters, Bessie Hymel, Hilda Verret and Inez Anslem; one brother, Billy Morgan; and one grandson, Eddie Olivier.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 26, 2014, at Holy Cross Catholic Church with the Rev. Danny Poche officiating. A visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014, at Twin City Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Friday from 9 a.m. until Mass time at Holy Cross. Helen will be laid to rest with her husband in the Morgan City Cemetery Mausoleum following Mass.
