HENRY BUTLER

Henry Butler, a World War II Veteran, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at the age of 89.
Henry Butler was born August 18, 1925 in New Iberia, LA to Henry Butler Sr. and Irene Scull Butler. He was the beloved husband of the late Delphine Antoine Butler and of this union were seven children, Paul Butler Sr., Matthew Butler (Cheryl), Patricia Butler, Robert Butler, Fredrick Butler (Rosalind), Wanda Butler and Madel Butler.
Henry is survived by four brothers, Joseph Butler Sr., Edward Butler, Sr. (Lucy), John Butler Sr. (Alice) and Lee Alton Butler Sr.; two sisters, Julia Butler and Melissa Butler Broussard; brothers-in-law, Peter Antoine (Dottie), Edward Antoine and Perry Antoine (Cynthia); six grandchildren, Paul Jr., Tasheena, Keenon, Brittany, Andrea and Jessyca Butler; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Butler Sr. and Irene Scull Butler; two sisters, Lillian B. Joseph and Mercedes Butler; three brothers; Felton, Julien and Ponties Butler; and great-grandson, Kaleb Butler.
Relatives and friends, members of Corpus Christi-Epiphany Catholic Church, Franklin Avenue Baptist Church, employees of Boh Brothers Construction Co., Goodwill Industries, Harrah’s Casino, Campus Federal Credit Union and Civil District Court-Clerk’s Office, are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial that will take place at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1802 Tulane Avenue, in New Orleans, LA 70112. The Reverend Thomas J. Sthelik, CM, officiating.
Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. until the time of service at the church with the Holy Rosary starting at 9 a.m.
A second visitation will be held at Fletcher Funeral Home, 609 W. Admiral Doyle Dr., in New Iberia, LA 70560 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Entombment will follow in St. Edward’s Mausoleum in New Iberia, LA.
Active pallbearers will be Paul Butler Sr., Matthew Butler, Robert Butler, Frederick Butler, Paul Butler Jr. and Kerman Butler.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph Butler Sr., Edward Butler Sr., John Butler Sr., Lee Butler Sr., Peter Antoine, Edward Antoine Sr., and Perry Antoine Sr.
