Funeral services for Herman Antoine Crochet will be held Monday, January 5, 2015, at 2 p.m., at Ibert’s Mortuary in Franklin. He will be laid to rest in Perpetual Park Cemetery. Father Lloyd Benoit will conduct the services. A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday at Ibert’s from 9 a.m. until time of service, with the rosary being prayed at 11 a.m.
Mr. Crochet passed away at the age of 86 on Thursday, January 1, 2015, at the Franklin Health Care Center. He was a native of Avoca Island and a longtime resident of Franklin.
Survivors include one brother, Paul Herbert Crochet and his wife, Audrey; three sisters, Annie Mae Breaux, Mary Theriot and her husband, Alvoid, and Elizabeth “Beth” Younger and her husband, Floyd; niece and caregiver, Shirley “Chris” Rouly; as well as numerous other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert Joseph Crochet and Elizabeth Dupuis Crochet; five brothers, Emmette Joseph Crochet Sr., Murphy E. Crochet Sr., Edward J. Crochet Sr., Gilbert “Mickey” Crochet, and Elie Crochet; and two sisters, Shirley Crochet Migues and Elvidge Rita Crochet.
