Jerry John Perera

Jerry John Perera, born in Franklin and a resident of Lafayette, passed away Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014, at the age of 81.
Jerry is survived by three sisters, Nancy Perry, of Lafayette, Shirley Hymel and her husband, Floyd, of Morgan City, and Ann Guilliot, of Bruly; two brothers, Huey Perera and his wife, Annie, of Bayou Pidgeon, and C.J. “Sonny” Perera of Talihina, Oklahoma; three nieces, Vanessa, Melissa, and Mary, who was also his godchild; seven nephews, Doug, Terry, Timmy, Kevin, Dwayne, Malcolm and Jody; and 24 great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Aldorest and Agnes St. Germain Perera; and two brother-in-laws, Don Perry and Ridley Guilliot.
The family requests that visitation be observed Monday, Oct. 20, 2014, from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass at noon at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Morgan City. Following services, Jerry will be laid to rest in the St. Joseph’s Church Cemetery in Pierre Part.
