John C. “Charlie” Davis

September 18, 1947 — January 4, 2014
John C. “Charlie” Davis, 66, a native of Olla and resident of Reserve, passed away Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at LSU Interim Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Charlie is survived by his daughter, Beth Colbert and her husband, Walter Colbert Jr., of Berwick; his brother, Robert “Bob” Davis and his wife, Lynette, of Patterson; three grandchildren, Brevon, Bronwyn and Brinlee Colbert; and two nephews, Jonathan and Erik Davis.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Erin Kelly “Thumper” Davis; his father, Johnny Davis; his mother, Lougene Forbes Davis; and one brother, Jim Davis.
Looking back at Charlie’s life, his family fondly remembers his love of music. He was once part of The Avengers, a music band where he played bass guitar. Charlie also loved football and was a fan of LSU and especially the New Orleans Saints. He tinkered with many gadgets and had a deep love for animals especially his dog, Tony, and parrot, Sam. Charlie will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
The family requests that visitation be observed Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014, from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home. Following services, Charlie will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Charlie’s name to Center of Hope in Centerville.
