JOHN WILLIAM SCHNEIDER

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2016, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Mowata for John William Schneider, 59, who died Thursday, May 19, 2016, at 3 p.m. at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City after a brief illness.
“J.W.” was a lifetime resident of Bayou Vista. He was very active with Knights of Columbus Council 6211 in Bayou Vista, having served as Financial Secretary for many years.
Fr. Joseph Tran, Pastor of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, officiated the services. Visiting hours were Saturday from 9 a.m. until service time. A rosary was recited at 10 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his two brothers, Gregory Schneider and Craig Schneider, both of Bayou Vista; two sisters, Claudette S. Faulk of Bayou Vista, and Peggy S. Stefan and husband, Paul, of Lafayette; his godson, Jeb Stefan and fiancé, Amanda Parsonage; his nieces, Katie Stefan, and Amber Monceaux and husband Brandon; and great-nephew, Breckin Monceaux.
He was preceded in death by his parents, F.J. Schneider Jr. and Germaine Hensgens Schneider; and one brother, Karl Schneider.
