A native of Opelousas and a longtime resident of Patterson, Kevin passed away unexpectedly at the age of 59 on Wednesday, March 25, 2015, in Patterson. He was the owner and operator of Dad & Lad Togs clothing store in Patterson.
From an early age, Kevin knew the importance of hard work, starting his first job at Camper City in Patterson in his early teens. He then started a lifelong career in the clothing industry working at Beal’s in Morgan City. In 1977 he started working at Dad & Lad Togs and in 2010 became the owner.
Kevin was a genuine person who never met a stranger and never forgot a friend. An active member of the community, he was a Commissioner of the City of Patterson Planning and Zoning Commission as well as the Boy Scouts of America, serving as a Scout Leader and in many other capacities.
Some of his favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing, making fishing lures and jigs, camping, woodworking, shopping on eBay, tinkering with and fixing things, and visiting with his customers. He was also an avid gun and bow collector, an avid Saints fan, a Patterson Historian, as well as an Aviation buff. But most importantly, Kevin’s passion in life was spending time with his family. He will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by his family as well as by the community.
