LAURA ANN COPPER SMITH

Laura Ann Copper Smith, 81, a native of Franklin and a resident of Morgan City, died Friday, January 16, 2015 at 5:34 p.m., at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Smith was an Educator, retiring from the St. Mary Parish School System.
Visitation will be observed Saturday, January 24, at the Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church in Morgan City, from 9 a.m. until funeral services at 11 a.m., with the Ivy Beyond the Wall Ceremony of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. beginning at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Edward Robinson will officiate the services. Entombment will follow in the Morgan City Mausoleum.
Cherished and divine memories of First Lady Smith will forever be remembered by her beloved husband, the Reverend Dr. C. F. Smith Sr. of Morgan City; her four loving children, Mrs. Gillis (Stephanie) Carbin, Chrispin F. Smith Jr. and Sonia D. Smith, all of Morgan City, and Jonathan F. Smith of San Antonio, TX; a brother, Vincent Copper Sr. of New Orleans; a sister-in-law; five grandchildren; as well as other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and two brothers.
