MARGUERITE SMITH JONES

A Mass of Christian Burial for Marguerite Smith Jones will be held Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 11 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 408 Martin Luther King in Baldwin. She will be interred in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery in Baldwin. Fr. Cedric Sonnier will celebrate the Mass.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 18, 2016, at 9 a.m. until the time of service at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Marguerite was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Four Corners. She was born on September 25, 1930, to the late Walter Smith and Edna Torregano. She entered into eternal rest on June 14, 2016, surrounded by her family. She was 86.
Left to cherish her memories is her husband, Felton Jones Sr.; one son, Glenn (Myrtistene) Wilson of Alexandria, VA; two daughters, his Iris Boyer (Anthony Colar) of Baldwin; and Ashley Lewis of St. Martinville; four sisters, Shirley Burkette, Lorraine Green, Geraldine Carter, Willie Mae Bijou, all of New Orleans; one brother, Harold Smith of New Orleans; 11 grandchildren, Treshell, Tamika, Tahj, LaShanti, Robert Jr., Roshawn, Japera, Keyoka, Kristy, Torrianda and Octavia; 13 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Michael Wilson, Felton Jones Jr.; one sister, Melvina Smith; and one brother, Charles Smith.
