MR. BILLY RAY BLACKBURN

Mr. Billy Ray Blackburn, 59, a resident and native of Lafayette, died Monday, August 24, 2015, at 12:15 p.m., at his residence following a short illness.
There will be no visitation service, only a funeral service, Wednesday, Sept. 2, at 1 p.m., at Nazarene Baptist Church in Franklin, officiated by the Rev. Henry Harris. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Geraldine Blackburn of Verdunville; one son, Bobby Ray Blackburn of New Iberia; one daughter, Mrs. Beverly Ann Blackburn Brown of Fort Leonardwood, MO; three brothers, Leonard Watts, Fred “Anthony” Watts and Reginald Watts, all of Houston, TX; two sisters, Miss Christine Blackburn of Baton Rouge and Miss Ruby Blackburn, also of Baton Rouge; and nine grandchildren.
Mr. Blackburn was preceded in death by his father and two brothers.
The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.
