MRS. ISABELLA GUY-WILLIAMS

A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Isabella Guy-Williams will be held on Friday, August 26, at 1 p.m. The Celebration will take place at St. Joseph Baptist Church in Franklin (St. Joseph area). The Rev, Ronald C. Young, pastor, will officiate the service.
Visitation will be held at the church on Friday, August 26 from 9 a.m. until the commencement of the Celebration of Life. She will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Baptist Church Cemetery in Franklin. The repast will be held immediately following the Celebration.
Mrs. Williams was born on November 12, 1938 in Franklin to Andrew and Lizzie Guy. She was a daughter of Christ, devoted mother, loving grandmother, caring sister and a girlfriend to all of her family and friends. All knew her as a vessel of God’s love.
Mrs. Isabella Guy-Williams was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Baptist Church, and lived to serve others. She was an educator, beginning her career at Hattie A. Watts High School, continuing on to Franklin Jr. High and Franklin Senior High School as a Physical Education, Civics and Free Enterprise teacher. She retired in May, 1997 after 34 years of service. Mrs. Williams was also a Girl Scout troop leader (Brownie and Jr. Girl Scouts). She was an active member of her church (Deaconess, Secretary Emeritus, VBS teacher and Mission Ministry) and community. Her community involvement included service as the Worthy Maton of Adah Chapter No. 20 Order of Eastern Star (1998-2004, 2009-2010), along with a host of many other organizations.
She has left her adopted sister, Selena Newton; three bundles of Joy, Torrance Armin, Thaihevia Detrice Browder (David), and Dr. Lizandra Clarissa Godwin (Koffi); five grandchildren, Ashanti Ashla Williams, Darrien Torey Williams, Everett Chris Williams, Sheila Grace Godwin and Kandra Mercy Godwin; a loving daughter-in-law, Christine Williams, a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends to cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 12 siblings, Andrew ‘Sunny Boy” Guy Jr., Nettie Rose, Willie Joyce Guy, Virginia Guy, Sylvia Guy Fagan, Andrew “Buckwheat” Guy Jr., Katy Guy, Frances Guy McMurray, Louisiana Guy Arnold, Maude Guy Patterson, Charles “Coley” and Huey Karl Guy.
