RAYMOND CALVIN 'CAKIE' LANDRY

Raymond Calvin “Cakie” Landry, a resident of Morgan City and native of Paincourtville, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2016. He was 90 and retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. Raymond was a member of the American Legion and VFW Post 4222. He loved the time spent with his grandson, Brad, hunting and fishing. He also called Bingo numbers for the VFW.
He is survived by his daughters, Wanda L. Plaisance and husband, Darryl, and Ellen M. Romero and husband, Martin; 13 grandchildren, Brad Landry, Amber Hewett, Alyssa Hewett (Steven VietVu), Alex Plaisance, Addison Plaisance (Becky), Andrew Plaisance, Arianna Plaisance, Mallory Landry, Dayton Romero, Tysonn Romero, Kimberly Ruiz, Tricia Simmons (John), and Jonathan Romero; and 11 great-grandchildren, Bryce, Kylee, Autumn, Abigail, Annabelle, Achilles, Hezakiah, Kade, Lucy, Elizabeth and Emarie.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce T. Landry; sons, Raymond P. Landry and Alvin D. Landry; parents, Paul and Rosa Prejean Landry; 12 brothers and sisters; and one grandson, Kyle D. Landry.
Visiting was at Hargrave Funeral Home Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visiting continued Friday from 9 a.m. until funeral services at 11 a.m. Burial followed in Morgan City Cemetery
Arrangements were under the direction of Hargrave Funeral Home, Morgan City.
