ROBERT HYMEL

Robert Hymel, 84, a resident of Morgan City, passed away Thursday, Dec. 24, 2015, at Patterson Healthcare Center.
Robert was born April 22, 1931, in Morgan City, the son of Cyrus and Dolphina Barrios Hymel.
Robert loved being in the outdoors whether he was hunting, fishing or just taking a ride in the boat. He enjoyed to go out dancing and loved to do the Jitter Bug; he also loved riding his bicycle and would ride it everywhere. Of all the things that Robert did in life, the thing he enjoyed the most was spending time with his family, but especially loved spoiling his grandchildren.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by three children, Melvin Hymel of Berwick, Milton Hymel and wife, Bobbie, of Mena, Arkansas, and Delores Elliot and husband, David, of Morgan City; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Anna-Mae Gros Hymel; and one daughter, Katherine Dupre.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. today, Monday, Dec. 28, 2015, at Twin City Funeral Home. Following services, Robert was laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
