ROSE NARCISSE GABRIEL

Mrs. Rose Narcisse Gabriel, 76, a resident and native of Sorrell, died Saturday, November 22, 2014, at 5:35 a.m., at her residence following a short illness.
Visitations will be observed Saturday, Nov. 29, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at Otis Mortuary Chapel.
Burial rites will be read Saturday, at 11 a.m., at the mortuary, with the Rev. Keith Carter officiating. Interment will follow in the Sorrell Community Cemetery.
Survivors include eight sons, Stanley (Lois) Gabriel Sr., Alfred (Henrietta) Gabriel, Donald (Alicia) Gabriel Sr., Russell (Janelle) Gabriel, David Gabriel and Dennis (Yolanda) Gabriel, all of Sorrell, Ronald (Ruth) Gabriel Sr. of Jeanerette and Colton (Rachel) Gabriel of New Iberia; three daughters, Ida (Oscar) Poledore, Marry (Harry) Booker and Shirley (George) Washington, all of Sorrell; three brothers, Ronald Brown of Houston, TX, Joseph Brown of Jeanerette and Willie Narcisse of Baldwin; two sisters, Ann Carter of Sorrell and Virgie Montgomery of Houston, TX; three step children, Marzel (Paul) Thomas of Beaumont, TX, Merritt Gabriel Jr. of Charleston, SC, and June (Jules) Franklin of Austin, TX; 81 grandchildren; and 72 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Gabriel was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.
