ROY JEAN ‘JEANNIE’ BERNARD

Roy Jean “Jeannie” Bernard, 67, a native of New Orleans and a resident of Jeanerette, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2015 at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Lafayette, 3:20 a.m.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m., Saturday March 14, at the Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Jeanerette, with a rosary being recited at 10 a.m., followed by tributes, and then Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Dismas Mauk, SVD serving as the Celebrant.
Cherished and divine memories of “Jeannie,” as she was known, will forever be remembered by her loving sons, Michael McNeal of Fredericksburg, VA, Leroy “Lee” McNeal of Spotsylvania, VA and Kevin McNeal of Raeford, NC; two brothers, Archie Aples of Lawrenceville, GA and Samuel Aples of Picayune, MS; one sister, Frances A. Boyd of Decatur, GA; five grandchildren; her former husband; a devoted friend; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
“Jeannie” was preceded in death by her parents; one husband, one sister and one brother.
