WILBERT DAVIS JOSEPH 'PEEWEE' MCDANIEL

Wilbert Davis Joseph “PeeWee” McDaniel was born Nov. 8, 1935, in Lake Arthur, Louisiana, and passed away Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015. He was raised in Jennings, Louisiana, and was a resident of Belle River for 48 years. He retired from McDermott after 34 years as a Leaderman in their pipe mill in Amelia, Louisiana.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lois Gros McDaniel; six children, Paula and husband, Aaron Gros Jr., of Belle River, Juanita and husband, Darrel Dukes Sr., of Gonzales, Tilton McDaniel of Belle River, Farrell McDaniel and wife, Amy, of Erwinville, Connie McDaniel and companion, Joseph Fountain, of Westlake, and Angelic McDaniel and companion, Dudley LeBlanc III, of Gonzales; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Pearl Hebert of Amelia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerizime and Lydia McDaniel; one brother, Wilfred McDaniel; and his in-laws, Paul and Angelic Gros.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2015, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and will resume Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2015, from 8 until 10:45 a.m. at Ourso Funeral Home in Pierre Part.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Pierre Part, officiated by the Rev. Al Davidson. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Belle River.
