Dear Editor,
The 2nd Annual Morgan City Oilfield Fishing Rodeo was held Saturday, May 10. It was an awesome event filled with fishing, family and fun. The event was held at the Patterson Civic Center, with food, music and fish weigh-ins being enjoyed by all.
The Morgan City Oilfield Fishing Rodeo (MCOFR) Board of Directors would like to send a big “Thank You” to all the sponsors and volunteers who made this a very successful event for all who participated. There were 91 boats (vs. 83 boats for 2013), which is a significant number to all. The goal will be to reach 125 boats in years to come.
With your support, the MCOFR is able to make sizable donations to the Nicholl’s State University Petroleum Tech Services program, South Central Louisiana Technical College-Young Memorial Campus “Wounded Warrior” education program and to the local Bayou Scout Troop 49, who assisted by providing traffic detail, set-up/clean-up detail. This year’s random beneficiary will be determined by the board of directors.
