Monday marked the first official day of fall practice for football teams across the state. Teams must wear helmets and shoulder pads until Thursday when they are allowed to put on full gear. Patterson was on the field Monday afternoon. The Lumberjacks are coming off a 10-3 season in which the squad advanced to the Class 3A quarterfinals. Patterson will have an early tuneup as it will face Thibodaux at 7 p.m. Friday in the Louisiana High School Coaches Association Officials Clinic at E.D. White at 7 p.m. On Aug. 21, Patterson will host St. James in a 5:30 p.m. scrimmage. Patterson will meet Morgan City at the Morgan City High School Jamboree Aug. 29 at 8 p.m. before opening its regular season Sept. 5 at home vs. Brother Martin. Above is action from Monday’s practice. The Patterson Lumberjacks participated in their spring scrimmage Thursday when they played at Central Lafourche. Patterson first-year head coach Chad Blanchard especially was complimentary of his defense, which is learning a new scheme this year. The Lumberjacks are under the direction of first-year head coach Chad Blanchard, who previously served as an assistant coach for the Lumberjacks. The Lumberjacks will conclude their spring work with a spring game May 15 at Central Lafourche High School at 5:30 p.m. These are photos of action from Monday’s workout.
