CCHS Eagles rout Hanson

The Central Catholic Eagles defeated the Hanson Memorial Tigers, 68-35, in District 7-1A action in Franklin Monday.
The Eagles had four players in double figures, led by Ja’len Johnson with 25 points. Others reaching double figures included Samarick Paul with 13; Elijah Swan, 12; and Brooks Thomas, 11.
Central Catholic (7-7 overall, 3-2 in district), ranked No. 5 in the latest Louisiana High School Athletic Association Division IV power rankings, will return to action Friday when it hosts Gueydan in a 7 p.m. district contest.
Hanson beats
CCHS Lady Eagles
Central Catholic fell to Hanson Memorial, 39-34, in District 7-1A girls’ basketball action in Franklin Monday.
Hanson entered the game ranked No. 7 in Division IV in the latest Louisiana High School Athletic Association power rankings, while Central Catholic is ranked No. 11.
Aaliyah Poole led Central Catholic with 12 points, while Hallie Autin scored seven and Taylor Picou, six.
Central Catholic (11-9, 3-4) will return to action Friday when it hosts Gueydan in a District 7-1A contest set for a 6 p.m. start. Gueydan is ranked No. 3 in the latest Louisiana High School Athletic Association Class 1A power rankings released last week.
