CCHS is No. 4 in latest Louisiana Sports Writers Association 1A Poll

Central Catholic rose two spots to No. 4 in the latest Louisiana Sports Writers Association Class 1A poll released.
Central Catholic, which defeated St. John of Plaquemine, 30-0, Sept. 1, received 95 points.
The Eagles will return to action Thursday when it hosts Class 2A Opelousas Catholic.
Ascension Episcopal, a District 7-1A opponent of Central Catholic, rose two spots this week to No. 6 in the poll. The Blue Gators are tied with Oak Grove, who fell a spot a week ago. The duo each received 65 points.
Another Central Catholic district opponent, Vermilion Catholic, received six votes in this week’s poll.
Southern Lab remains Class 1A’s top team with 10 of 11 first-place votes and 130 points.
In Class 5A, Patterson’s week 2 opponent, Hahnville, received two votes this week in the 5A poll.
Brother Martin remained No. 1 in Class 5A, while Neville still is No. 1 in Class 4A. In Class 3A, Lutcher remains the top-ranked team, while in Class 2A, Notre Dame is No. 1 for the second-straight week.
