Lady Tigers drop doubleheader; Berwick splits

St. Joseph’s Academy swept a doubleheader with Morgan City Saturday in Morgan City by scores of 8-0 and 7-6.
No individual statistics were available.
Morgan City’s final home game of the regular season today against North Vermilion has been rained out.
Morgan City (14-10 overall, 5-2 in district) will return to action Wednesday when it closes District 7-4A action and its regular season with a 4 p.m. contest at Ellender in a makeup from earlier season action.
Berwick splits games at John Curtis’ tournament
After a long layoff, the Berwick Lady Panthers got back on the softball diamond Friday and Saturday with mixed results.
While Berwick fell to Riverside 11-0 Friday in its first game since an April 1 contest against Teurlings, the Lady Panthers bounced back with a 13-3 win against Archbishop Chapelle Saturday.
The Lady Panthers’ second game Saturday against Westminster Christian was rained out.
No individual statistics were available from this weekend.
Also, Berwick’s game today against Central Catholic in Bayou Vista has been rained out.
Berwick (12-17) will return to action Tuesday when it hosts Catholic High-New Iberia in its final home game of the season, which is set for a 4:30 p.m. start.
Elsewhere, Patterson High’s game with Terrebonne today also has been rained out.
The Lumberjills (9-14) will close their regular season Tuesday with a 4 p.m. contest at home against Centerville.
