Morgan City tops Berwick in Week 1 action

Morgan City opened its 2015 regular football season with a 26-7 victory against Berwick in a battle of area schools.
Meanwhile, Patterson fell on the road to Central Lafourche, 24-13. Patterson entered its contest ranked No. 5 in the initial Louisiana Sports Writers Association Class 3A poll released earlier this week.
On Thursday night, Central Catholic defeated St. John of Plaquemine 54-27. Central Catholic was the top team receiving votes outside the Class 1A top 10 in the Louisiana Sports Writers Association's initial poll released this week.
