Patterson and Berwick high schools managed to complete a continuation game Friday in Patterson. The Lumberjacks were ahead 2-0 when the game was postponed due to lightning on April 16. Patterson added two more runs in Friday’s contest to win 4-0 securing second place in district. E.D. White stands in first place and Berwick is third. Patterson edges out Berwick Friday

Patterson blanked Berwick, 4-0, at home Friday in a continuation game from April 16.
The game, which Patterson was leading 2-0, was called after the teams had already gone to the dugout for a lightning delay with Berwick batting with no outs in the top of the third inning and a runner on first.
It’s the first time since 2010 that the Lumberjacks swept the District 9-3A rivalry from the Panthers.
Kenny Singleton picked up the win tossing a complete game three hitter. Patterson scored two runs in the second and fourth innings.
Top hitters for Patterson were Kenny Singleton, 1-for-2 with a double and a run scored; Bryce Beaubouef, 1-for-2; Tyrik Singleton, 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs; Joel Singleton, 1-for-3 and an RBI; Brad Beaubouef, 1-for-3 and Blake Dryer, 1-for-2 and an RBI.
Patterson (16-11, 6-2) secured second place in the district standings with Friday’s win. E.D. White won the district while Berwick (17-12, 4-4) finished third.
Playoff brackets will be release Tuesday.
The Lumberjacks are scheduled to play the final game of the season on the road today against Morgan City, weather permitting.
Neal Theriot suffered the pitching loss for Berwick. He threw three innings allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits with two strikeouts and a walk.
Daniel Gray also tossed three innings in relief giving up two runs (both earned) on three hits with a strikeout and a walk.
Leading batters for the Panthers were Justin Movant, 2-for-3 with two singles and Cody Roberie, 1-for-2 with a single.
Berwick’s game scheduled for today with Hanson has been canceled.

Gueydan 0
Central Catholic (20-4, 10-1) pounded Gueydan (2-14, 1-9) in Amelia Friday.
Patrick Barron got the win on the mound throwing a 10-strikeout one hitter.
The Eagles scored in every inning, two in the first, a run in the second, two in the third and eight in the fourth to end the game.
Leading hitters were Stefano Guarisco, 0-for-1 and an RBI and two runs scored; Matthew Barbier, 1-for-2, RBI and a run scored; Mitchell Lemoine, 1-for-3, two RBIs and a run; and Thomas Garber, 2-for-3 with three RBIs.
Also contributing were Carlos Rivalta, a run; Charlie Barron, 0-for-2 with two runs; Patrick Barron, 1-for-2, two RBIs and a run scored; Blake Hidalgo, 1-for-2, an RBI and a run; and Tony Pennison, 1-for-1 with two RBIs and a run.
Saturday’s game against Hanson was called off due to inclement weather.
