AGA Fourball tournament held

The Atchafalaya Golf Association held its four ball tournament Saturday and Sunday, the association’s last event of the year.
Winners of the two-player team event, which was played across 36 holes, were Ricky Granger and Darryl Collette (66-61) 127, first place; Daniel Tomba and Tanner Manuel (65-64) 129, second place; Ryan Cheramie and B.C. Thibeaux, third place; and David Levingston and Bill Marin, fourth place.
During the golf association’s season, members earned points to qualify for the association’s AGA Ryder Cup Team, which will be held Sept. 12-13 and will be like the pro event.
The 24 competitors — 12 on each team — will be comprised of 22 players who qualified and two others who will be picked by the captains.
Players will receive uniforms and will compete for prizes.
