Dixie Youth District 12-year-old tourney will begin today

The District 3 12-year-old Dixie Youth Baseball Tournament will begin today with two games at the Bayou Vista Community Center.
The four-team tournament will feature Morgan City meeting Patterson in the opener at 5:30 p.m. today, while St. Mary Central and Thibodaux will follow at 7:30 p.m.
Action will continue Saturday with the two opening-round losers meeting in an elimination contest at 2 p.m., while the two winners from today’s contests will meet in a 4 p.m. winner’s bracket game.
Action will continue through Monday with the championship contest set for 5 p.m.
However, if the team coming out of the elimination bracket defeats the undefeated team who emerged from the winner’s bracket, then an “if necessary” game will be played at 8 p.m. Monday.
