Members of the Morgan City 12-year-old All-Stars hoist their Louisiana Dixie Youth Majors South Regional runners-up trophy following a two game loss to Ville Platte Tuesday night. Morgan City was undefeated until the finals when the team dropped the first game 5-3 and the second game 8-3 in tournament play in Ponchatoula. Ville Platte moves on to face the north regional champion Winsboro at 6 p.m. Friday at the Johny Downs Sports Complex in Alexandria.

The Morgan City 12-year-old All-Stars’ season came to an unexpected end in the championship game of Louisiana Dixie Youth Majors South Regional Tournament in Ponchatoula on Tuesday.

St. Mary Central 12U team finishes regional play 2-2

The St. Mary Central 12U All-Stars fell 13-1 to Union Parish Monday in the Louisiana Dixie Youth North Regional Tournament in Winnsboro. The loss ended St. Mary Central’s season.
