Franklin hosting District 3-AA Dixie Youth Tournament

Five teams will be vying for the 2016 8-year-old District 3-AA Dixie Youth Pitching Machine Baseball Tournament which will be held Wednesday through Saturday at Caffery Park here in Franklin.
Thibodaux, Morgan City, St. Mary Central, Patterson and host Franklin all will play for the District 3-AA Tournament Title beginning tonight at Caffery Park.
Action opens tonight in the round-robin tournament format with Game 1 as Thibodaux battles Morgan City at 5:30 p.m. Franklin will take on St. Mary Central at 6:45 p.m. in Game 2 in tonight’s opening round.
Thursday’s action has Morgan City squaring off against Patterson in the opener at 5:30 p.m. prior to Thibodaux playing Franklin at 6:45 p.m.
Two games will be on tap for Friday with St. Mary Central taking on Thibodaux in the first game at 5:30 p .m. which will be followed by Patterson and Franklin playing in the nightcap at 6:45 p.m.
Four games will be played on Saturday with SMC and Morgan City squaring off at 10 a.m. before Thibodaux and Patterson battle at 11:30 a.m. At 1 p.m., Franklin will play Morgan City before the final game pits SMC against Patterson at 2:30 p.m.
The Franklin 8-year-old Dixie Youth All-Stars are: Luke Spangler, Riley Hebert, Kaden Legnon, Daylan George, Trey Edmond, Jaxon Frederick, Tino Lopez, Taylon LaCoste, Bryson Broussard, Trey Frost, Owen Vaccarella and Ethan Clements.
The Coaches are Morty Frederick, Paul Frost, Jamon Vaccarella and Eric Clements. The 2016 8-year-old District 3-AA Dixie Youth Tournament will be hosted by Franklin at Caffery Park. The District Tourney will be played Wednesday through Saturday with a pair of games set for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and four games on Saturday.
