Long scores 10 in 76ers debut

Morgan City High alum and ex-University of Louisiana at Lafayette standout Shawn Long scored 10 points in the first game of his NBA Summer League Action Tuesday for the Philadelphia 76ers.
Long, who played in approximately 20 minutes off the bench, connected on 4 of 10 field goal attempts and 2 of 5 free throw attempts. He had five rebounds — three offensive and two defensive — one assist and one block.
Long was one of six players to score in double figures in the 76ers’ 95-91 loss at the Vivint Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Christian Wood led the team with 19 points, seven rebounds, one assist and one steal.
Philadelphia, which is 0-2 in Summer League action in Salt Lake City, will return to action today at 8 p.m. against the Utah Jazz at the Jon M. Huntsman Center at the University of Utah. The game will be broadcast on NBATV.
