The Morgan City Oilfield Fishing Rodeo partnered this year with South Central Louisiana Technical College’s Young Memorial Campus and added the school’s Mike Michel Trash Fish category to the rodeo as a tribute to Michel. Michel, the first recipient of the Trashy Fish Award for the SCLTC-Young Memorial Campus Bass Fishing Tournament, passed away before the event’s second tournament. Michel, Young Memorial’s accountant and employee for 17 years, was well like by all, so the award was named in his honor. This year’s winner was Hunter Andras, left,
who also received a prize of $200. Continuing right are Earl Bouton, marine instructor at Young Memorial, and Anthony Baham, Young Memorial campus administrator. (Submitted Photo/Courtesy of Morgan City Oilfield Fishing Rodeo)
