MCOFR registration extended

Registration for the fourth annual Morgan City Oilfield Fishing Rodeo has been extended until May 5.
The, which will be held May 7 at the Patterson Area Civic Center, will feature four categories for anglers: redfish, bass, speckled trout and catfish derby.
Individual entries are $100 per boat, per category.
Additionally, sponsorship levels are available: Corporate sponsor, $500; gold sponsor, $1,000; and diamond sponsor, $2,500.
A corporate sponsorship includes one team entry for one category, while a gold sponsor includes a team entry for two categories. A diamond sponsor includes two team entries for all categories.
Fishing will be from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., and weigh-in will begin at 2 p.m. at the Patterson Area Civic Center.
A golf scramble will be held at 4 p.m. May 6 at The Atchafalaya at Idlewild. Entries are included for Morgan City Oilfield Fishing Rodeo Sponsors. A corporate sponsor received two entries, gold sponsor, four entries; diamond sponsor, six entries. Individual entries will be $25 per person.
Prizes will be awarded to the golf tournament winners.
With the public’s support, large donations can be made to Nicholls State University’s Petroleum Tech Services program, South Central Louisiana Technical College-Young Memorial Campus education program and to the Boys Scouts.
In 2015, the rodeo donated more than $20,000 to higher education and charitable causes and paid out more than $13,000 cash in prize money to fishermen.
