Morgan City youth football and cheerleading sign ups are ongoing

Registration is ongoing for the Morgan City Recreation Department’s tackle and flag football as well as cheerleading.
Tackle football is for children, ages 10 to 12 by Sept. 1 of the current year, who meet the following weight requirements:
—Any youth who is 10 years of age must weigh at least 75 pounds with no maximum weight limit.
—Any youth who is 11 or 12 years of age must weigh at least 70 pounds and cannot exceed 135 pounds.
Any youth weighing more than 120 pounds only will be allowed to participate as an offensive or defensive lineman.
The first weigh in will be counted as the child’s official weight, and no re-weighs are allowed.
Entry fee is $50 per child. A birth certificate or copy must be presented upon registration.
Flag football registration is for children, ages 7 to 10 who weigh less than 75 pounds by Sept. 1 of the current year. The fee is $40 per child.
Cheerleader registration, for girls ages 7 to 12, is $35 per child.
Registration is available at the Morgan City Recreation Department at 915 Everett St. in Morgan City from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
